SSC CGL Recruitment 2019 Notification – Exam Dates, Pattern, Vacancy, selection procedure


The staff selection commission conducts the examinations for recruitment annually. The exam pattern, dates, pattern and vacancy have been announced.


Stage 1- Tier 1

The paper is divided into four sections namely General intelligence and reasoning, general awareness, quantitative aptitude, English language having 25 questions each and 50 marks. The paper has negative marking of 0.50 marks for each incorrect answer. The duration is 80 minutes for VH and candidates suffering from Cerebral Palsy.

Stage 2-Tier 2

This will be an online based examination consisting of 4 papers. There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for paper 1,3 and 4 and negative marking of 0.25 marks for paper 2. Paper 1 will be of Quantitative aptitude containing 100 questions for 200 marks. Paper 2 will be of English language and comprehension of 200 marks and 200 questions in total. Paper 3 will be of statistics containing 100 questions and 200 marks. Paper 4 will be of General studies containing 100 questions and 200 marks. Duration will be 2 hour for each paper with 40 minutes extra for paper 3 and 4.

Stage 3-Tier 3

This will be a descriptive type paper of 100 marks and will be conducted in pen and paper mode. Duration will be 60 minutes.

Stage 4-Tier 4

This will be Data entry skill test/computer proficiency test. DEST will be for Tax Assistant post only.

SSC CGL Recruitment -  Eligibility Criteria

Assistant Audit Officer- This post requires Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognised university or Institute.

Junior statistical officer- This requires Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognised university or institute with at least 60% marks in Mathematics in 12th standard.

All other posts- They require Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognised university.

Those who are appearing in final year of their graduation can also apply but they should complete the graduation before 1st August 2018.

Age limit

For the post of Statistical Investigator Grade 2, the maximum age limit is 32 years.

Age limit for Assistant in CSS is 20-30 years.

Assistant in IB as an age limit of 21-30 years.

Assistant enforcement officer has a limit of 30 years.
SI in Central bureau of Narcotics has a limit of 18-27 years.


Age Relaxation Category wise

The age relaxation for SC/ST candidates is 5 years. 3 years for OBC and 10 years for Physically handicapped.

SSC CGL Exam Dates

The starting date for online application is 5th May 2018.
The last date for application is 5th June 2018.
The Tier 1 exam is on 04.06.19 to 19.06.19.
Tier 2 exam is on 11.09.19 to 13.09.19.
Tier 3 exam is on 29.12.2019.
Tier 4 exam is not yet notified.
